India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.03%
Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, IT and Capital Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.03% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:BJFS), which rose 2.38% or 40.20 points to trade at 1,726.40 at the close. Meanwhile, SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:SBIL) added 2.17% or 38.95 points to end at 1,835.20 and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:MRTI) was up 1.98% or 242.20 points to 12,486.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were JSW Steel Ltd (NS:JSTL), which fell 2.04% or 19.70 points to trade at 943.80 at the close. Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN) declined 1.93% or 70.20 points to end at 3,560.00 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (NS:HLL) was down 1.92% or 54.15 points to 2,767.00.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which rose 2.37% to 1,726.70, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:MRTI) which was up 1.87% to settle at 12,476.00 and Larsen&Toubro Ltd (BO:LART) which gained 1.61% to close at 3,698.70.
The worst performers were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (BO:HLL) which was down 2.01% to 2,764.00 in late trade, JSW Steel Ltd (BO:JSTL) which lost 1.96% to settle at 944.20 and Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which was down 1.89% to 3,561.50 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1355 to 1098 and 26 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2043 rose and 1748 declined, while 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:SBIL) rose to all time highs; up 2.17% or 38.95 to 1,835.20.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.72% to 13.69.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.50% or 12.65 to $2,542.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.79% or 0.61 to hit $76.81 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.66% or 0.53 to trade at $79.83 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.07% to 83.92, while EUR/INR rose 0.09% to 93.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 100.73.
