Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.32%
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.32% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3), which rose 13.73% or 0.28 points to trade at 2.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) added 7.48% or 0.36 points to end at 5.17 and CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3) was up 4.75% or 0.25 points to 5.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3), which fell 3.33% or 0.34 points to trade at 9.88 at the close. Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) declined 2.82% or 0.04 points to end at 1.38 and Dexco SA (BVMF:DXCO3) was down 2.17% or 0.18 points to 8.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 542 to 393 and 61 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.74% to 24.33.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.95 to $2,549.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.68% or 1.23 to hit $71.94 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.01% or 0.02 to trade at $248.48 .
USD/BRL was up 0.17% to 5.49, while EUR/BRL rose 0.17% to 6.11.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 101.07.
