Trump sees Bitcoin as America's next big opportunity, says Bitcoin conference organizer

Bitcoin’s value and its potential as a digital currency are drawing attention across industries, and former President Donald Trump’s alignment with bitcoin is no exception.

Roundtable anchor, Rob Nelson, and David Bailey, CEO of BTC Inc., recently explored Trump’s understanding of digital currencies and how it reflects his business acumen.

"People still say bitcoin is just a bunch of numbers in a computer," said Rob Nelson, addressing common misconceptions. "But dollars are just paper, it doesn’t surprise me that Trump would grasp the value of a digital currency. He recognized the power of social media early on, understanding less tangible tools that others overlooked." Nelson added that Trump’s ability to see bitcoin as "a digital version of gold" underscores his instinct for identifying untapped opportunities.

David Bailey, who led the Bitcoin Nashville conference's push to land President Trump as its headliner last year , echoed that perspective, emphasizing Trump’s entrepreneurial mindset.

"Do I think Trump is opportunistic in supporting bitcoin? Absolutely," Bailey said. "His whole life has been about identifying opportunities where there’s potential for a great deal. From my perspective, bitcoin is the best opportunity America has in front of it right now."

Bailey concluded that Trump’s career success lies in his ability to foresee and align with opportunities, including bitcoin. "It takes the mindset of an entrepreneur to see potential, and that’s exactly what Trump has done with bitcoin," he said, noting how this insight reflects the former president’s broader approach to innovation and strategy.
